Did You Know Bananas Are Berries?

Yep, you read that right!
Surprisingly enough, bananas are actually considered berries, while strawberries, raspberries and blackberries are not!
To be a berry, a fruit must have 2 or more seeds and develop from a flower that has one ovary.
TIP:
- Try incorporating 1-2 servings of fruit each day.
- Fruits provide sources of essential nutrients that are typically under-consumed, including potassium, dietary fiber, vitamin C, and folate (folic acid).
- Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries are some of the healthiest fruit you can eat! They’re lower in calories and high in fiber, Vitamin C and antioxidants!
